Kamakshamma & Ekambareswara Temple -Kakiveedhi

About 300 years ago Srikakulam town was a village type fazuldhar center on the banks of river Nagavali . Business persons used to go villages for purchase of crops & other agricultural products. One day it has happened that a person on his way to Polaki village rested on the Deity of Goddess Parvathi which was laid as steps at pond .. to finish his morning activity of cleaning his mouth & teeth ... though he recognized as it was a Ammavaaru Stone he neglected the mater . In the night he suffered Bleeding nose and fell ill later Goddess came to his Dream and told to carry the deity to Srikakulam and do Pratista as Kamakshamma Goddess . The gentleman recovered from illness and done all what he dreamed . Later on "Ekambareswara deity brought and kept there as God Shiva .

since 1972 . . Penta Sankara Sharma has been looking after the daily archana , pooja & Naivedyam. His son Sri rama murty Sastri has been helping in day to day work of the Temple.

A shivalayam is constructed besides Ammavaru temple . Recently Shirisai mandir is also constructed to the south of the above Temple in the same premises /ground . There is no boundary wall to these temples . The deities each Mandir are protected by iron grill .
